Girls' and Boys' Day – Why engaging with young people matters

The shortage of skilled workers is a cross-industry challenge that places significant pressure on many companies. Addressing this issue requires more than just rethinking traditional recruitment strategies. Concepts like four-day workweeks, job sharing, and AI-driven efficiency tools are already part of everyday practice. At PROMOS, we are continuously evolving our work environment to create attractive conditions for our team – and to win new talent. One key aspect of our long-term strategy is fostering continuous exchange between seasoned professionals and the younger generation. Our long-standing commitment to the Girls' and Boys' Day initiative shows just how valuable this kind of dialogue can be – not only for improving internal processes, but also for developing forward-looking solutions that benefit companies across the real estate sector.

The skills shortage – A shared responsibility

Finding qualified employees is no longer an issue limited to a few industries – it's a widespread concern. In times of digital transformation and rapidly evolving workplaces, traditional recruiting is no longer enough. This is where new ways of thinking and working become essential. Companies that seek early engagement with young talent can benefit from fresh ideas and develop long-term strategies to meet market demands. But this requires looking beyond short-term staffing needs and focusing on the sustainable optimization of processes and structures.

Girls' and Boys' Day – Encounters that inspire

Girls' and Boys' Day is a key part of PROMOS’ commitment to helping young people explore the working world early on.
Julia Franz, Head of Marketing, has welcomed young visitors to her department for many years: "It’s important to me to give our young guests a realistic picture of what we do. At the same time, it’s exciting for us to get to know these young personalities and hear their thoughts on a range of topics. It’s a mutually enriching experience."

At PROMOS, participants are introduced to a wide variety of areas – from consulting to back office – and experience how digital processes and modern working methods are applied in practice. The goal isn’t necessarily to recruit future employees. It’s about dialogue: helping young people gain orientation for their career paths, while giving us insights into the expectations of a new generation.
