Girls' and Boys' Day – Why engaging with young people matters
The skills shortage – A shared responsibility
Finding qualified employees is no longer an issue limited to a few industries – it's a widespread concern. In times of digital transformation and rapidly evolving workplaces, traditional recruiting is no longer enough. This is where new ways of thinking and working become essential. Companies that seek early engagement with young talent can benefit from fresh ideas and develop long-term strategies to meet market demands. But this requires looking beyond short-term staffing needs and focusing on the sustainable optimization of processes and structures.
Girls' and Boys' Day – Encounters that inspire
Girls' and Boys' Day is a key part of PROMOS’ commitment to helping young people explore the working world early on.
Julia Franz, Head of Marketing, has welcomed young visitors to her department for many years: "It’s important to me to give our young guests a realistic picture of what we do. At the same time, it’s exciting for us to get to know these young personalities and hear their thoughts on a range of topics. It’s a mutually enriching experience."
At PROMOS, participants are introduced to a wide variety of areas – from consulting to back office – and experience how digital processes and modern working methods are applied in practice. The goal isn’t necessarily to recruit future employees. It’s about dialogue: helping young people gain orientation for their career paths, while giving us insights into the expectations of a new generation.

PROMOS has been a proud participant in Girls' and Boys' Day for many years. Our own Young Bloods even organize the day as a dedicated project – from young people, for young people.
Gen Z – Driving digital transformation with fresh ideas
Gen Z is rethinking the world of work. Having grown up with digital technologies, they expect flexibility, transparency, and intuitive processes. Their digital fluency and focus on efficiency offer valuable impulses – for our company culture and our IT solutions alike. Because those who understand the needs of young people today can develop products that will remain relevant tomorrow.
With an average employee age of 38 and more than 40 working students and apprentices in 2024 – six of whom were hired into permanent positions – PROMOS ranks among the younger companies in an otherwise traditionally structured industry. The input from this generation helps PROMOS develop solutions that simplify workflows, digitize processes, and meet the expectations of modern working environments. The result: smart digital solutions that not only boost efficiency but also support employee satisfaction. After all, happy teams aren’t just a benefit for us – they’re a win for our customers too.
Looking ahead – Shaping the future together
The challenge of the skills shortage can only be met through a combination of experience and innovation. By actively engaging with Gen Z and integrating their perspectives, we lay the foundation for sustainable, future-ready work processes. This benefits our internal operations and, just as importantly, our customers – through modern, efficient, and people-friendly digital solutions. We’re already looking forward to welcoming many bright young minds again at the next Girls' and Boys' Day.
