Heading into the future with good ideas – the OpenPromos User Forum is a melting pot of creativity

Did you know that, according to a study by Hays AG and IBE, digitalisation is the first area where companies would make investments in times of crisis? And 30 percent of surveyed participants at this year’s OpenPromos User Forum also held this view. As an experienced consulting house, we also share this opinion. A future-proof digital strategy provides all the necessary tools to develop genuine competitive advantages even in turbulent times. There were plenty of clever ideas, successful project presentations and new solution approaches to provide inspiration at the OpenPromos User Forum.

The OpenPromos User Forum took place for the 16th time, and this year also marked its debut as a hybrid event. Participants had the option to follow the total of 21 seminars live both online and in person in Berlin. Enticingly, the motto was “We’re flying high on digitisation”. And with the huge number of innovative digitalisation topics on offer, we really did feel as though we were hovering a few centimetres above the ground. The fact that, at the traditional evening get together, we lifted off not only in our minds but also quite literally was the cherry on the top of the entire event. In the Hurricane Factory, those who felt brave enough had the change to fly through the wind tunnel.

Artificial Intelligence – a myth from the future or exciting reality?

Right at the start, Jens Kramer reported on his private attempts over the previous months to use AI platforms as a source of information for planning his holiday. As it turned out, with little success. So what can the new technology actually already do? Where are opportunities to be had and in which areas do we need to be prepared for changes in the coming years? Jens Kramer is convinced that AI will not bring any disruptive changes to business models in the housing and real estate industry. However, we should of course make use of the benefits of Artificial Intelligence as a component of solution concepts. In the past, he has already discussed ideas regarding intelligent concierges for apps, the talking exposé or AI-supported user verification. And, more tangibly, just recently PROMi – the virtual assistant for the easysquare tenant app – was launched.

Successful despite crises

A panel discussion in talk show format captivated the audience for a whole 90 minutes. How can challenges be converted into opportunities? Is the four-day working week already a reality? What role does politics play in residential construction? And why should new legal regulations be met with not just a technical solution but, above all, intelligent processes? Smart minds from the real estate industry discussed all these topics and more.

Concrete digital solutions

The presentations and discussions covered a wide variety of digital process optimisation topics – from digital processes in utility cost management thanks to integrated meter reading service interconnection at WSL to the new PROMOS Data Governance Tool for increased data quality and on to the new OPSN in SAP Fiori®. This year, our innovation lounge was particularly popular. Here, visitors could discuss solutions and, above all, try them for themselves 1 to 1 directly on the monitor casually and in an informal atmosphere. Genuine added value for those visitors who joined us in person.

Our summary?

We were once again delighted to welcome the participants and presenters – amounting to 109 and 22 respectively this year. Their input is our guide on the path to the future and their critical reviews drive us to perform even better. We are looking forward to seeing which familiar and new faces join us for the OpenPromos User Forum 2025! We are certain that no other comparable event in the industry offers more innovative digitalisation topics.
