EXPO REAL 2017 – Revolution in the air

With around ten percent more exhibitors, this year’s EXPO REAL, Europe’s largest real estate fair, also attracted even more visitors. A total of 41,500 people attended the event, and we had the pleasure of welcoming many of them to our stand.

A particular draw was our joint presentation with berlinovo on the tenant app, which was followed by Berlin-style street food. The audience listened with interest to the story of the app’s introduction, initial user figures, acceptance and functions. berlinovo currently uses the app to let its new student apartments in Storkower Strasse, Berlin. Its functions appeal to a young user group:

  • Intuitive search function using individual criteria
  • Clear property profiles displayed
  • Option to book directly in the app
  • Short description of available apartments with location details and use of icons to visualise information
  • Easy to use with native apps for iOS and Android

After the presentation, our Berlin-themed street food stand, serving meatballs, pickled herring and beer, was the perfect place to talk to representatives from berlinovo and the experts from PROMOS about current development opportunities and specific application scenarios. Perceptive observers in the crowd will have sensed revolution in the air. The high visitor numbers are certainly clear proof that innovative digital projects like this are a hot topic right now. On the following day, which explored the potential of mobile app projects beyond the specific customer case study, visitors continued to throng to the PROMOS booth. Some snapshots taken directly from our stand show the interest in the public events.

The second focus was on how housing companies can use digital technology to manage heating cost statements themselves. Although this was a more specialised topic, the audience were extremely interested in how businesses can take a step towards digital autonomy in this area. “We are finding this year that mobile technology in particular has become a mainstream topic. This is partly because end customers are increasingly demanding modern solutions. In addition, our customers can also see the enormous potential of such projects for their business,” said Thoralf Beyer, Chief Sales Manager at PROMOS, describing the current climate in the real estate market.

After three event-packed days at the trade fair, and as we enter the golden season of autumn, we would like to thank all our guests for their interest and for visiting out stand. We look forward to seeing you all again soon. We hope you enjoy our pictures from the event.
