ARGE HeiWaKo is now called bved – what else is in store for you?

Against the background of the new Carbon Dioxide Cost Sharing Act, ARGE HeiWaKo adapted the record formats for data medium exchange to the new requirements in summer 2023 and made the new version 3.10 available. In this context, SAP announced the revision of the A, D and M/L records; a delivery for M/L records has already taken place. According to a new notice from the Walldorf-based software company, the corresponding publication for D records is expected to be postponed until the second quarter of 2024. What does this mean for you and what is the renaming to bved all about?

bved – ever heard of it?

Since 15 March 2024, the Association for the Distribution of Heating and Water Costs (Arbeitsgemeinschaft Heiz- und Wasserkostenverteilung e. V. (ARGE HeiWaKo) has been known as the Federal Association for Energy and Water Data Management (Bundesverband für Energie- und Wasserdatenmanagement), or bved for short. The website under the old name is no longer accessible. But what is it all about? At the official relaunch, the management justified the renaming and revision of the public profile with the strategic further development of the association. The bved is expanding its range of topics to include climate change, CO2 reduction, the heating and energy transition and resource efficiency. Oliver Geer, CEO of bved, explains: “We can confidently say that we are the data experts when it comes to buildings.” And as a service provider for our housing and real estate industry customers, we are also reliant on this expertise. The bved provides the structures for data exchange on which real estate companies and suppliers build. But how can we deal with the new record format?[1]

New structure 3.10

After bved adapted the data structure to the new legal requirements last year, the market is now eagerly awaiting the corresponding format adjustment by SAP. According to SAP Note 3397336, the revision, which was scheduled for the beginning of 2024, is now expected to be postponed to the second quarter of 2024. This rescheduling also has an impact on developments at PROMOS consult. As already announced in the article from March 2024, our experts are working flat out to adapt the PROMOS solutions for utility cost settlements.

Jörg Stibbe, Senior Expert in the area of Consulting Real Estate Management, explains:
